An appeal letter is a letter written to seek help from the person or committee reading it. It should be such that the it has all the details of the appeal and a decision can be taken immediately. It should cover all aspects of appeal like the introduction, what is the appeal for and the necessary document supporting the appeal.
While writing an appeal letter it’s very important to keep in mind to keep yourself in the reader’s place and think of the possible questions that would arise from the appeal. Try to think what more information would be needed to take a decision.
Appeal letter should have proper documents based on what the appeal is for, for example the medical certificate, academic record or copies of correspondence etc to prove your point. It should be simple, not too long and to the point. The language should be very formal without any emotional touch.Keep the letter short, as people do not have time to read long stories.
Appeal letter should not be taken as letter for taking out your anger or complaining about somebody or someone. Keep the focus on getting your problem solved through your appeal letter. Explain clearly what exactly is the problem and what all steps who had taken in the past to rectify and why you thing that your appeal should be heard. Use a very formal language and be polite and straightforward while appealing. Close the letter by giving your contact details so that the reader can get back to you for further clarification. Always thank the reader for the time and consideration.
