An authorization letter is a letter of approval or permission given to a person for any kind of work that you would want him or her to do on your behalf or a work for which permission has been sort. The letter is very important while giving permission, while delegating work or approval for some work.
An authorization letter is valid only if it is signed by a person or institution of appropriate authority. These letters are very important in the medical and legal sector. The type of authorization letter depends on the seriousness of the matter like for personal issues the authorization letter should just specify few lines like whom you are authorizing and for what and your signature but for governmental purposes, there are certain format and rules to be followed as asked by the authorities.
It should be very specific about how long you are authorizing the person, and the responsibilities you are giving to the person. The person reading it should clearly understand what has to be done and when it has to be done. It is also used as a confirmation letter if it has to be shown to the third party.
