Congratulation letters are the best way to offer someone your appreciation about his or her success, achievement and efforts. Write the congratulation letter keeping in mind the personality of the person you are congratulating and how you feel the reader would respond to the letter. It is advisable not to indicate that you need any favor or will derive any benefit from the person’s success.
Congratulation letter should not portray any kind of envy or jealousy and the words selected should be such that it shows that you are indeed happy for the reader’s achievement. The letter should sound cheerful and show enthusiasm. Write the letter as though you are talking to the person directly. The letter should be simple and with praise and appreciation for the achievements and specify what the achievement was and why it is a great achievement and acknowledge the hard work and effort put in for the success.
It’s very important to write a congratulation letter as this gives the reader an assurance that his or her hard work and accomplishments have been noticed and they can be proud of their achievements. If efforts/achievements are recognized in such manners by the organization, it also helps motivate other employees to thrive for similar achievements. If the person is a close friend or relative or someone very close, the letter can be personal and informal.
If it is an accomplishment by an employee you can specify how the employee has helped others because of their accomplishment.
