Follow up letter is important in any business as it allows you to accomplish what you want. It is a good tool to get your tasks done. It is sometimes similar to a thank you letter. It can be used to reiterate important points of a meeting or to reinstate to the employer about your desire of the job prior the job interview as in comparison to the thank you letter, which is sent after the interview.
The main aspect of follow up letters is to remind people of the upcoming meetings and events, recap the important points of a meeting, remind the customers or the potential customers of your willingness to serve them, provide more information if required and show interest .
Follow up letters are used to increase productivity by reminding the reader about the important information of a meeting. For a job search, it’s a good idea to write the follow up letter if you have not heard from the company for some time. Though it is not very important to write a follow up letter for job search as a cover letter but helpful to encourage employer reference.
A follow up letter should be short, concise and to the point. Follow up letter helps in building relationships stronger and makes the recipient feel that you have noticed their efforts. It allows you to demonstrate your interest and show courtesy. In case of job seekers a follow up can act as the last chance to impress the interviewer.
