Fundraising thank you letters are very important as they make the donor feel that he or she has made the right decision donating to your organization. It strengthens the relationship with the donor and increases the chances of getting more funds fromthe same donor in the future. A sincere thank you letter is a best fundraising tool and it is also a good chance to talk about the organization and its cause again to the donor.
Start the letter by thanking the reader for the funds or gifts and inform when it was received and how it helped your organization. Show gratitude and give an assurance to the reader that you are thankful for the support given by him or her and you value their gesture.
It is always better to give real life stories like the story of someone who has been helped by your foundation with the funds provided by the reader. This gives the reader an impression that you not only value the fund sent by the donor but the gesture made by the donor, the reader gets and assurance than he has done something for a cause. Write as though you are directly talking to the person, this looks more real and personal.
It is always advisable to send the letter as soon as the fund or gift is received. Close the letter by thanking the reader for their time and consideration.
