Retirement Letter
Retirement letter is a letter that is written with mixed feelings, as the person will never join back the same work once s/he retires. Though retirement brings along joy where the person can spend time with their family and friends, it’s something that doesn’t give a happy feeling as you would be leaving the place where you have spent the last few working years of your life.
Retirement letter is an opportunity to thank the people who have supported you with your achievements and accomplishments. It should not be taken as an opportunity to settle past conflicts or criticize someone, so the letter should be polite and concise.
Retirement letter can include the good memories and time you spent with your coworkers. Clearly state when you are retiring and the good opportunity you got from the company during your tenure .It is a good idea to offer help in training the person who would be replacing you. If necessary you can also leave your contact details so that you can be contacted for any kind of part time jobs if interested. You can also inform the employers if you would like to continue to pay medical or life insurance, etc.
Emphasize personal achievement and accomplishments with a positive tone and thank the co-workers for their support. Retirement letter should convey show enthusiasm and appreciation towards managers and coworkers. Do not write any negative statements or jokes about anyone as it leaves a bad impression about you.
